What You Get in 'Qualified Inclusive Leader'...

With Qualified Inclusive Leader, you get all you'll ever need to implement a solid diversity recruitment program effectively.

Here's how...

As a hiring manager, you know firsthand how difficult it is to find and attract diverse talent into your open positions.

You spend company resources and your time trying to create a brand as an employer of choice to all groups. Still, you don't seem to move the needle on increasing diversity among women, people of color, the differently-abled, veterans, and the LGBTQ+ community…

And that 'diversity' part of the hiring process is where most hiring managers fall short.

Most hiring managers fail in their mission to build a diverse yet productive team because they believe that they are already doing all they can do, and they believe that diversity recruiting is ONLY about finding more places to source candidates.

They expect RECRUITERS to deliver upon the promise of increasing diversity.

Hiring managers + Recruiters, on the other hand, both play a starring role in the promise to Increase Diversity!

After our training, managers know EXACTLY what to DO and what to EXPECT.

02.png

The # 1 goal of effective diversity hiring is filling the position with the candidate that adds the most value to the organization.

To achieve that, a hiring manager needs to:

  • Understand their role in finding and attracting diverse top talent
  • Explore strategies to effectively assess candidates effectively
  • Discover techniques to make solid selection decisions
  • Boost retention efforts - to increase and maintain diversity

Achieving an organization's initiative to increase diversity is anything but easy…

Yet, now, more than ever, organizations NEED diversity. For hiring to be considered successful, hiring managers are required to go BEYOND filling the position with people that are a good "fit."

Your organization may have a 101 training developed for hiring managers but what makes our program unique is that its training is infused with topics about inclusion, diversity, and social justice—something rarely found in internal training programs.

Plus, we use the best practices learned across many industries.

This program is designed to help hiring managers best assess, select, hire, and retain historically underrepresented populations.

Lucky hiring managers have excellent recruiters fielding the perfect candidates for them.

But with this training program, hiring managers DON'T NEED LUCK.

And I’m referring to all managers who hire! Maybe, you hire quite often. Maybe you only hire once a year. Or maybe you know you will be hiring in the near future. Training is necessary to move from diversity recruiting to…well…RECRUITING! Qualified Inclusive Leader trains managers to make diversity recruiting SYSTEMATIC.

Even better, participants of this training program can learn and then train their interview teams to see and disrupt unconscious bias so they can effectively assess candidates.

We make diversity recruiting experts out of our participants.

How?

The program walks hiring managers through the critical steps of hiring, including:

  • Identifying the most important elements for diversity recruitment…
  • Working with recruiters to attract ideal candidates from the underrepresented communities…
  • Deciding on the hiring criteria…
  • Hiring candidates who will come and stay...

"Our hiring managers are not responsible for every single aspect of recruiting…why would I teach them subjects for which they are not accountable?" You might ask.

We agree with you. That’s why we do NOT deliver the same training to hiring managers that we deliver to recruiters. Hiring mangers only receive training in areas where they are held accountable or where their partnership to recruitment is a necessity. That is why we focus our training on:

  • Understanding DEI + Social Justice (in context to recruitment)
  • Retaining Talent
  • Assessing + Selecting Talent
  • Finding + Attracting Talent

We both know it's almost catastrophic to ignore diversity in today's America, and increasing diversity is a TEAM effort.

Recruiters + Hiring Managers work together to increase diversity.

The ability to increase diversity without compromising on merit depends on a recruiter's ability to present a diversity-rich candidate pool and a hiring manager's ability to fairly assess and select the candidate that adds the most value to the team, department, and company.

And, there's more to diversity than meets the eye. Have you, for instance, ever asked yourself how "diversity-ready" your environment is? In other words, is your environment inclusive? If not, are you on the path towards an environment the embodies intentional inclusion?

With Qualified Inclusive Leader, participants learn how to hire with a lens on diversity and discover ways in which they can create more inclusive environments to support diversity.

The good thing with this training program is that you get to apply and implement what you are learning right away with quizzes, utilizing various question types (i.e., multiple choice and critical scenarios) and our three Os model: One thing to ask, One thing to further review, and One action to take immediately. You get to apply learning ASAP!

This training program...

  • Empowers hiring managers how to attract strong candidates from diverse backgrounds
  • Helps hiring managers build an organization's reputation—one that promotes inclusion
  • Gives hiring managers the resources they need to achieve diversity in the organization
  • Provides hiring managers with tips for retaining the strongest candidates from underrepresented communities…

By enrolling, a hiring manager finally achieves and sustains diversity and enjoys watching the organization burst with talent from all over.

If this is what you want for your organization, join us.

Here's what hiring managers learn in 'Qualified Inclusive Leader'...

Qualified Inclusive Leader is a treasure to the Chief Diversity Officers, Chief HR Officers and especially the Recruiting Leaders we are working with.

How many times have you heard your recruiter say that they wish their hiring manager understood diversity recruiting and inclusive hiring?? I know that was a common message I heard when leading recruiting teams in the past.

Helping hiring managers learn how to RECRUIT, ASSESS, SELECT, and RETAIN people from historically underrepresented backgrounds makes everyone's job easier…

…everyone goes home happy.

The program is designed to take 12 hours to complete, and everyone starts and ends with the same information. If you want a tailored program for the managers at your organization, you can talk to us too!

2021 Classes!

• 02/22-03/29
• 04/12-05/17
• 06/07-07/12

For leaders’ convenience, the program is virtual. On-demand.

The learning journey starts prior to the live session with access to our online learning platform. Each week participants will receive access to a new module covering what we believe here at JTC to be the most critical topics in diversity recruiting.

Then, we have a one hour weekly interactive live class via Zoom. Participants go through the training with a cohort from other industries and diverse backgrounds, share their experiences, and learn from each other.

All participants also get access to Diversity Recruiter Central, a private LinkedIn community of alumni and current participants of our diversity recruitment training program. This is a safe community of recruiters and hiring managers who are all on a learning journey.

Hiring managers get a chance to discuss topics that resonate with them, get a chance to share and engage with classmates between live classes, and a safe place to tap into other diversity experts' minds after the program is over.

We send emails, too. Useful emails–not spam—to help hiring managers better themselves and their teams.

So, that is…

  • Online course with both text and 20+ videos
  • 1 hour, weekly live, interactive class via Zoom
  • 20+ course handouts jampacked for deeper learning
  • Quizzes, reflection activities, and writing activities to help leaders implement what they're learning

The critical areas hiring managers will cover:

09.pngMODULE 1

ORIENTATION AND DEFINING DIVERSITY

Participants kickstart the program by learning how to navigate and utilize the resources provided effectively. From learning more about the program to how to maximize the program and the FIVE rules of engagement, hiring managers explore diversity in America.

What is diversity? Who needs it?

By the end of the first module, they're prepared to be "diversity recruitment superheroes".

MODULE 2
BACK TO BASICS

Here participants explore the challenges of diversity recruitment and inclusive hiring and how to overcome them. Participants describe diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts as they relate to recruitment. They also define representation, explore the challenges of inclusive hiring, and identify their own resistance. They also get a chance to understand the bias in the hiring system—from a historical perspective.

It's in this module that we also share tips for effective workforce planning and recognizing a strong recruiting partner. After all, you are a team working together to increase diversity.

03.png

MODULE 3
RETAIN STAFF TO MAINTAIN DIVERSITY

Here, we explore retention strategies to increase diversity. We ask uncomfortable questions like, "How diversity-friendly is your environment?" "How equitable are your pay structures?"

We discover how to build an inclusive onboarding experience, identify their management style for better retention of diversity (you know it's one thing to attract candidates from marginalized communities and another to keep them), and explore how unconscious bias leads to gaslighting.

We also discuss the power of equitable promotion.

MODULE 4
ASSESS + SELECT

In module 4, participants explore strategies to assess and select the best candidates effectively. It starts with developing an effective job description, followed by being able to clarify qualifications, selecting an interview team, and asking appropriate questions (we'll also discuss the inappropriate (+illegal) questions too).

Other topics include identifying biases and overcoming them, providing meaningful feedback, applying our 2-Factor Based Hiring Model, and utilizing a selection worksheet.

05.png

MODULE 5
FIND + ATTRACT

Participants learn discover various techniques in which they can support the recruiting team in finding and attracting underrepresented talent for the organization.

Also, understand the impact of company branding, know how to apply the 3 Ps of Sourcing for Managers, explore strategies to increase diversity through networking, attract talent through inclusive job descriptions, and provide access and insight to an organization.

MODULE 6
ACTION PLAN!

In this last module, participants explore techniques to set effective diversity, equity, and inclusion recruiting goals and develop an action plan. We give them course takeaways as they explore ways in which they can be effective allies, commit to the cause of diversity recruiting and inclusive hiring, establish their action plan, and go out to make a change.

Achieving diversity might have been as hard as finding the coronavirus vaccine but not anymore.

Qualified Inclusive Leader makes it easy to RECRUIT, ASSESS, SELECT, and RETAIN people from historically underrepresented backgrounds.

Can you do this, too? YES.

About Me

jenn-tardy.png

Hello, I'm Jennifer Tardy, a D&I Certified Diversity Executive, Certified Diversity Practitioner, and an official career coaching partner to prominent LinkedIn, Diversity Advocates, The Society for Diversity, and even RiseSmart.

In the grand sphere of DEI, strategy development always includes the recruitment and retention of historically underrepresented populations (i.e., people of color, women, veterans, LGBTQIA+, and the differently-abled).

Most DEI consultants, though, don’t understand the technical aspects of recruitment. And, some recruitment leaders don’t understand diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This gap leaves a significant hole in the DEI strategy. For example, your DEI leader recommends to your recruiting leader to focus on diversity recruitment as a part of the overall DEI strategy. Your recruitment leader does not know how to implement an effective diversity recruitment program and struggles to create an action plan.

That's where our firm, Jennifer Tardy Consulting (JTC) joins the conversation. Our firm saw this gap, and so we spend our time, energy, and resources to fill this need by way of translating the needs across the aisle between the diversity and inclusion team and the recruiting team.

We also get to translate between employers and job seekers.

See, my first course was created for job seekers, Offer Magnet Job Seeker.

The passion I have for helping others gain access is rooted in all of my experiences, both good and bad in the career environment. I’ve played all the roles: the job seeker, the recruiter, and the hiring manager…

It is my calling to help others create influence and gain the success they are looking for in every possible career, while helping recruiters create the most diverse pool of potential talent possible.

Soon after starting the Offer Magnet Job Seeker Program, I found myself thinking about the impact that could be made if recruiters and hiring managers were also trained and coached—to see and mitigate bias that's baked systematically into the hiring process.

And that is where Qualified Diversity Recruiter (QDR) and Qualified Inclusive Leader (QIL) was born.

I knew that creating Qualified Inclusive Leader would further the initiative for organizations seeking to increase diversity.

As a recruiting leader I struggled with finding a training for recruiters that went beyond Boolean string searches. As a matter of fact, I struggled with even finding a training for hiring managers. They just weren't out there!

Increasing diversity, as hiring managers will discover after going through this program, is only hard if you are ill-equipped.

"I found the Qualified Diversity Recruiter Bootcamp extremely valuable. My only regret is wishing we would have done it sooner! The Talent Acquisition team and I feel more equipped and confident to push forward to impacting positive hiring outcomes for our underrepresented employee populations after completing Jenn's training."

– Tracy Bruckschen, Allianz Life Senior Director, Talent Acquisition

“Thank you so much for taking our team through diversity magnet training. I found the content very applicable. There were many things we learned that we can apply immediately but most importantly you helped us identify foundational barriers that may be limiting access to more diverse talent pools. Looking forward to training our managers next!”

– Cecilia Stanton Adams, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer

“The Qualified Diversity Recruiter Training is career uplifting! The system Jenn created to deliver the training is easy to navigate and flows nicely through the modules – much better than any online academic course I’ve taken. As a visual learner, I appreciated the modern and colorful aesthetic of the system and her handouts. You can practically print and frame them! The course content offers the right breadth, depth, and even the trends in diversity hiring that are valuable for every recruiter. I especially appreciate the post-course continued access to these materials – I’m already finding much value in my continued access. Jenn is also a strong communicator and moderator – she was good at leading tough conversations and questions during my weekly small group check-ins. I think she’s really found her calling in this field. I recommend this training to all talent acquisition professionals – there’s so much you can take away from this and confidently share with your team. I hope to work with her again!”

– Ashley Edge, SHRM-CP, Talent Acquisition Manager

One organization was struggling with finding the right language to use when talking about diversity. I helped their leaders with effective language to help them know the difference between using the words African American versus Black or Latino versus Hispanic, for example.

As an organization, you WILL struggle to increase diversity in your candidate pools UNTIL you learn everything you need to start, stop, and continue doing.

This high-quality, customizable hiring program is the magic bullet to your organization's diversity issues.

You do not have to spend years learning like me—this is the easy way out I wish I had.

While most corporate recruiting teams have similar training programs, they lack depth because only a few understand DEI. Companies often seek external subject matter experts for internal training.

You don't have to do that. It's EXPENSIVE.

We're launching now, but what I teach in this training program has worked!

It packs in all the goodness you would want from a diversity training program:

  • The high-quality virtual on-demand training program at the click of a button
  • Low cost—a fraction of what it would cost your company to train from scratch
  • All the resources you need to create a diverse and performing team

This training program by Jennifer Tardy, LLC, is the only that requires you to start certain actions AND stop certain actions to achieve diversity faster and to sustain it. That's right! We review both sides of the coin.

It also saves you money and time.

'Qualified Inclusive Leader' is a one-of-its-kind program. You'll not find it anywhere else.

It is based on my 15 years of experience running training programs like this for successful organizations and startups . . . the kind of training that gets results for organizations like yours.

I WANT TO BE AN INCLUSIVE HIRING EXPERT!

Here's What You Get with 'Qualified Inclusive Leader'...

Save thousands of dollars and precious time by getting this customizable, fit-for-you training program to help hiring managers learn how to RECRUIT, ASSESS, SELECT, and RETAIN people from historically underrepresented backgrounds.

It takes team effort to implement an effective diversity recruiting program—a recruiter who is responsible for the diversity within the candidate pool and a hiring manager who is accountable for who gets hired…

I've been on the other side of the fence, too, as a jobseeker from an underrepresented community.

I know how it feels to be ambitious + different…and without equal access.

That’s why I passionately help hiring managers move organizations from being overwhelmed and confused about where to start and what to do…to feeling qualified, capable, and confident about their role in inclusive hiring while still providing the incredible value every organization requires from a team.

Your organization will thank you for it.

Instead of spending thousands of dollars on consultants and search agencies, get all you need in one place and at your convenience.

Guarantee

If you've come this far, your gut feeling is that this is the only way to raise your recruiting standards.

Trust your judgment.
